The High School Soccer season is starting to take shape and some teams are separating themselves from the rest of the pack.
UIL Soccer is entering the mid-point part of the season and the matches are heating up. In TAPPS the playoffs are set to begin on February 13th.
SATX AREA DISTRICT LEADERS
UIL Boys Soccer
Region IV District 27 6A
Schertz Clemens: Overall 11-0-1 District 4-0-0

The Buffaloes are picking up right where they left off in 2020. Currently perfect in district and the only draw was to Austin Lake Travis in the Austin Lakes Elite Showcase. Dalin Burris leads the team with 11 Goals and 11 Assists. Burris was also selected Player of the Week in Texas by United Soccer Coaches and Max Preps.
Region IV District 28 6A
San Antonio LEE: Overall 11-1-0 District 6-0-0
The Volunteers are still on a mission to win the UIL 6A State Championship. LEE lone loss of the season was to Austin Vandegrift in the Austin Lakes Elite Showcase. Two huge matches which could decide the District Champ will be next Friday vs Churchill (Overall 9-1-1; District 6-0-0) and again on March 19th in the regular season finale. Julian Sanchez leads the Vols with 12 Goals and 9 Assists.
Region IV District 29 6A
San Antonio Harlan: Overall 11-1-0 District 7-0-0

Harlan move from 5A to 6A has been near seamless. Harlan’s only loss this season was to LEE in the Alamo Heights Tournament. A victory versus Warren (Overall 6-4-2; District 3-1-1) on Friday will give the Hawks a sizable lead in district play. Cameron Burleson leads the Hawks with 11 Goals and 5 Assists.

Dripping Springs: Overall 9-0-3 District 5-0-0
The Tigers are taking control of the district wins over second place New Braunfels Canyon and San Antonio Alamo Heights; both 1 goal victories.
Region IV District 27 5A
San Antonio Jefferson: Overall 7-3-0 District 4-0-0
The Mustangs are on five match winning streak and looking to take control of the district lead. San Antonio Edison is tied for the district lead at 4-0-0 and will play each other Tuesday on February 16th. Christian Perez leads the team with 13 Goals and 2 Assists.
Region IV District 28 5A
San Antonio Southwest: Overall 11-0-0 District 4-0-0
The Dragons were the local favorites to win the UIL 5A State Championship in 2020, they still look to the be favorites in 2021. Perfect record thus far and only Harlandale has kept pace in district play. Southwest will face Harlandale twice on February 12th and March 16th. Julian Leon leads the team with 18 Goals and 18 Assists.
Region IV District 26 4A
Bandera: Overall 4-1-0 District 0-0-0
The Bulldogs and the rest of the teams in 26-4A are entering district play this week. Seems like the district is wide open and competitive for all six teams, four have a record above .500.
Region IV District 27 4A
Pleasanton: Overall 2-5-0 District 2-0-0
Pleasanton have won both matches to start district play by a combined score of 9-0.

Smithson Valley: Overall 10-0-1 District 4-0-0
The Rangers are just three wins shy from their 2020 total. Almost perfect through eleven games, the lone draw to San Antonio Clark in the the Smithson Valley Ranger Classic. Cibolo Steele right now are the closest contenders and the district could be up for grabs in the season finale on March 19th. Jadelin Castillo leads the team with 13 Goals and Helene Farris leads with 11 Assists.

San Antonio Reagan: Overall 12-0-1 District 6-0-1

Playing, in our opinion, the toughest district in the SATX area; Reagan are just one draw from perfection a 0-0 draw with San Antonio Madison. The Rattlers have handed LEE and Johnson their only losses. Taylor Jernigan leads the teams with 22 Goals and Jadis Kirk leads with 10 Assists.
Region IV District 29 6A
San Antonio O’Connor: Overall 7-3-1 District 6-0-1
The Panthers lone draw in district play was to Brennan on February 2nd. It won’t easy to maintain the district as both Taft and Brennan will face O’Connor in the last three weeks of the season. Maila Dominguez leads with 9 Goals. Chloe Ramirez leads with 10 Assists.

Dripping Springs: Overall 7-0-1 District 4-0-1
The Tigers are off to a strong start the only draw coming to San Antonio Alamo Heights. Dripping also have a game up on New Braunfels Canyon after a 1-0 win last month.
Region IV District 27 5A
San Antonio Jefferson: Overall 9-4-0 District 5-0-0
The Mustangs already have a win over San Antonio Edison to maintain the lead in the district. Jefferson has scored 20 Goals in the last three matches. Arianna Solis leads with 19 Goals and Janelle Solis leads with 18 Assists.
Region IV District 28 5A
San Antonio Southwest: Overall 9-3-0 District 4-0-0
The Dragons have improved since last season, have already matched 2020’s win total. Southwest has not given up a goal in the last four games. Harlandale and Medina Valley pose as the contenders for the district but Southwest already has a game up on Medina Valley and face Harlandale on the 12th. Sarahi Fernandez leads with 22 Goals and Leah Gonzalez leads with 9 Assists
Region IV District 26 4A
New Braunfels Davenport: Overall 4-0-0 District 0-0-0
The Wolves are coming off a win versus over San Antonio Cole. District play starts this week versus Fredericksberg. Canyon Lake and Wimberly look like contenders to be battling out for the top spot in the district towards the end of the regular season.

Uvalde: Overall 6-3-0 District 2-0-0
The Lobos have lost only by one goal in their three losses this season. All coming in tournaments. Uvalde has started district play with a combined 20 goals in the first two games. Esmy-Angelee Garcia leads with 5 Goals and Abby Kone is team leader in Assists with 5.
TAPPS Boys Soccer
TAPPS I – District 3
Central Catholic: Overall 7-3-1 District 5-0-0
The Buttons are looking for a historic 5th straight TAPPS State Title. The regular season ends this Tuesday versus Austin St. Dominic Savio. Have already secured the District title and will have a first round bye in the playoffs. Diego Guajardo and Isai Perez are tied with 6 Goals and Isai Perez leads the team with 7 Assists.
TAPPS II – District 3
TMI Episcopal: Overall 13-2-0 District 10-0-0
TMI is also coming off a TAPPS State Title and are looking to repeat. Have secured the District Title and face Antonian in the season finale. Patricio Parra leads the team with 31 Goals and 16 Assists.
TAPPS III – District 5
John Paul II Catholic HS – Schertz: Overall 12-2-0 District 9-0-0
The Guardians have not allowed a goal in the last six games and are perfect in District play. Could contend for a state title in TAPPS. Could we see a sweep on the TAPPS trophies for SATX area boys soccer this year?

Cornerstone Christian – SA: Overall 15-3-0

Antonian College Prep – SA: Overall 12-3-1 District 6-0-0
The Apaches finished the regular season on a four game winning streak. They play very competitive games against Reagan, Madison and Johnson in their only losses of the season. Kate Roberts has 15 Goals, Grace Loehr has 12 Goals. Kaitlyn Holzmann leads the team with 7 Assists.
TAPPS II – District 3
Geneva School of Boerne: Overall 12-2-0 District 8-2-0
Geneva scored 10 or more goals four times this season. Improved by three wins from last season. Audrey Davis leads the team with 23 Goals. Alex Doran leads with 15 Assists.
TAPPS III – District 2
John Paul II Catholic HS – SA: Overall 9-1-0 District 5-0-0
Won the TAPPS III State title in 2020 and are favorite to repeat. Have allowed goals in two games all year. Did not allow a goal in District play this season.
