COLLEGE SOCCER CORNER: SA Universities enter important weekend of play

All nine men’s and women’s enter this weekend with a lot to play for. Some teams are fighting for a conference tournament spot, other are looking to finish the season strong and some have already entered the conference tournament. Here’s your one stop shop for all the San Antonio College Soccer teams.

MEN’S TEAMS

UIW Cardinals – 4 W 10 L 0 D

After a tough weekend in Califorina last week, UIW is looking to finish the season strong with the last three remaining games, all at home.

November 1st; 5PM vs Seattle at Benson Stadium

November 3rd; 1PM vs San Jose St at Benson Stadium

St. Mary’s U Rattlers – 11 W 2 L 1 D

Currently ranked 10th in NCCA Div II. The highest ever ranking for the men’s team. Clinched a berth in the conference tournament and has three home games remaining.

October 31st; 7PM vs Texas – Permian Basin at Sigma Beta Chi Field

November 2nd; 3PM vs Lubbock Christian at Sigma Beta Chi Field

Trinity U Tigers – 9 W 4 L 2 D

After a slow start have won 8 of 10, tough away loss in Colorado last weekend. Trinity ends the regular season this weekend with a pair of home matches.

November 1st; 8PM vs Dallas at McGinlay Field

November 3rd; 2PM vs Austin at McGinlay Field

OLLU Saints – 10 W 5 L 2 D

The regular season has completed for the Saints and they enter Red River Athletic Conference Tournament as the third seed and will have a first round home match this weekend.

November 1st; 1PM vs Texas A&M – Texarkana (RRAC Tournament) at OLLU Soccer Field

WOMEN’S TEAMS

UTSA Roadrunners – 8 W 7 L 1 D

The Roadrunnners have guaranteed at least .500 season for the first time since 2011. One match left in El Paso and if UTSA wins, they clinch a spot in the CUSA tournament.

November 1st; 8PM – at UTEP

UIW Cardinals – 8 W 9 L 0 D

2019 has been the most successful season since 2013 and one more win will guarantee a .500 season. UIW has clinched a playoff spot in the Conference Tournament and are currently 4th with a 7-3-0 Conference Record.

November 1st; 7:30PM – vs Abilene Christian at Benson Stadium

St. Mary’s U Rattlers – 5 W 9 L 0 D

The Rattlers have a pair of away matches this weekend, one scheduled for today is postponed until tomorrow due to unplayable field conditions. Rattlers still have an outside shot to make the conference tournament.

November 1st; 3PM at Texas A&M Commerce in Commerce, Texas

November 2nd; 1PM at Texas at Tyler in Tyler, Texas

Trinity U Tigers 12 W 3 L 0 D

Trinity women are currently ranked number 17 in the nation in NCAA Div III, coming off just their third loss of the season. Tigers wrap up the season with two at home.

November 1st; 6PM vs Dallas at McGinlay Field

Novemebr 3rd; vs Austin at McGinlay Field

OLLU Saints 10 W 4 L 1 D

The regular season is complete for the Saints and end as RRAC regular season champions. They get a first round bye and wait to see who their opponent will be.

November 7th TBD at Texarkana, Texas
