There’s only Ten games left in 2022 USL Championships Season and so far, San Antonio Fútbol Club has dominated pretty much a lot of it. Yes, we dropped a couple to Phoenix and had an away match against San Diego Loyal that is just to forget about; but until now SAFC has proved a legit contender for some very overdue hardware. THE USL CHAMPIONSHIPS CUP!

Nicky Hernandez’s banger of a goal can on describe how powerful this team is.

The man simply found himself looking up and just spinning it into the back of the net like that PRO level FC Dallas caliber. Peep Game highlights vs Las Vegas Lights and Nick80.

2-0 W for San Antonio FC vs Vegas Lights

One of the biggest surprises that San Antonio FC has really impressed on the following has been the way they’ve been winning. BY SCORING! A LOT!

Home and away, the team come through clutch in putting one behind the net. Most impressively has been how the squad has made it absolutely exhausting for their opponents to put “one” on them.

The backfield has been most impressive. With Mitch Taintor, Fabien Garcia, Jasser Khmiri, Carter Manley and Saad Abdul – Salaam all combining for (6) goals as a collective backline, it’s easy to see why teams have been having difficulties with their strategies against them. If ” The Wall” isn’t stopping, its scoring on you!

The Midfielders have been dominating at winning the ball back and with Capi “PC” Victor Hiro just commanding the mid, creativity and a threatening forward attack begins to play in effect.

Nicky Hernandez, Conner Maloney have made some insane plays to forwards Justin Dhillon, Santi Patiño and Samuel Adeniran who have been a wrecking crew against keepers and defenders. Together they have (24) goals collectively as an attacking crew. Six of these goals coming from the bench in the shape of Ignacio “Nacho” Bailone and Kiwi Elliot Collier, who is back from injury.

So, as stated before with just ten games left this is how we look going into September, October and possibly a November push:

Momentum is in huge favor of us, and the squad must maintain that winning never say die mentality. All season long we have heard HC Alen Marcina preach about ” Mentality Monsters” it would be an absolute hard pill to swallow if we cannot maintain that discipline. Complete full confidence and Championship hopes from the fan base for El Equipo can be felt at Toyota Field.

Attendance has been decent 5K+ per match in an 8k stadium is really good. So keep packing it in SAFC Faithful.

There are major injuries that we hope can be ready for a massive playoff push. Carter Manley is key in the backfield and had to leave the match grabbing his hamstring. Here is the list of current injuries.

David Loera (lower body injury) – Out

Mohammed Abu (lower body injury) – Out

Jordan Ayimbila (lower body injury) – Out

Fabien Garcia (lower body injury) – Out

The positive is this. WE ARE WINNING. We have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Set a record a club record 18th Win of the season and an 18-4-2 with 52 points giving the squad the top spot in the USL, not just the CONFERENCE, the USL!

Saving the best for last. We have the best keep in the USL. Mr. Air Jordan Farr who after Saturdays Mid Air ” The CLAW” take away, kept his 10th clean sheet of the season and has San Antonio Clúb tied for most in the League.
