The San Antonio Surf are riding a wave to the UPSL National Playoffs. They stand as one of the last 32 teams left in the nation to see who will lift the cup in Columbus. The UPSL Semi-Finals and Championship final will be played at the historic Columbus Crew original stadium.
The San Antonio Surf will head to New Mexico and play UDA Soccer in Las Cruces, July 2nd at 11am.
Coach Mulamba: We are buzzing at the prospect of being at this stage. Of the hundreds of teams in the UPSL across the nation, to be amongst the last 32 standing is an incredible achievement by the lads, and it speaks volumes of the level of talent that resides here in San Antonio. I’m humbled to lead the boys out to New Mexico, and to once again try to represent San Antonio and ourselves well. We are prepared to leave it all out on the pitch, and hopefully that will be enough for us to get the desired result. I’m immensely proud of this group already, there’s no limits to what they can achieve.
Vincent Florio: As a local guy, it’s an honor to represent San Antonio. This is my first year with this team, and it’s been an awesome journey. Playing in front of my family and friends has been awesome, and also being able to compete at a high level is what it’s all about. I, and the team are ready to go all out. We hope we’ll have the support of everyone back home
Miggy Salazar: it’s a big honor to be playing still. I have been on the coaching side with UIW, and the playing side of things with SAFC, being here with the guys and the staff has brought that joy of the game back for me. We have a very talented group. Excited to go out there and contribute what I can towards us getting a good result in New Mexico against a very good UDA. We are ready, vamos Surf!
