SA Womens Soccer Report: SA Runners Start 1-0 To Start UWS League Play

Summer has arrived and 2022 Womens Semi- Pro brings you two United Womens Soccer (UWS) squads based out of San Antonio.

Playing in the Southwest Conference (UWS), The Runners have already their first win of the season as they take down Williams County FC 2-0. This Conference could be easily be seen as one of the toughest groups in the Country with two power teams in FC Austin Elite and SA Athenians which made the National UWS playoffs and lost to Santa Clarita Blue Heat the 2021 National Champions.

There are some very familiar faces suiting up for the SA Runners this 2022 season. Some of the notable popular names have been pioneering and pushing for more Womens Soccer in San Antonio since 2017. However, SA runners do also mix in a lot of young local talent for a perfect mix of Veteran and youth play for their inaugural season.

Forward Allyson Fahey makes her comeback into the soccer circuits as she attempts to lead this squad to success. Between the pipes you have veteran Keeper and USA Womens Minifootball World Cup Champion Raeanne Garcia at the helm. Also joining the squad are 2017 TAMU NCAA DI National Champion Kimberly Sepulveda who scored the first goal in runners women’s history from 35 yards at 18” and Newly appointed NCAA d3 Schreiner womens soccer head coach Melanie Chandler scored the 2nd at 78”.

Another big addition To the squad is San Antonio Madison high school Player stand out and Tarleton State University commit Jaycee Bass. Bass led the Madison girl soccer team to a playoff birth and was also named the 2022 Express-News All- Area team, also known as a super team.

This 2022 Womens Soccer promises to be an exciting with full talent from San Antonio on display.
