HS Soccer: Triple Threat, Three Boerne Teams Reach UIL State

Its been an exciting UIL playoff this season, we saw record number of San Antonio area high school teams for boys and girls soccer make it to the regional stage of the UIL playoffs.

The dust has settled and three area teams have emerged and reach UIL the State Championships.

The City of Boerne will have three representatives in the UIL State Semifinals.

Girls Soccer

Boerne Greyhounds

The Greyhounds will enter the UIL State Semifinal with a record of 20-3-5 and ranked 5th in Girls 4A Soccer. Boerne has scored 27 Goals in the UIL playoffs defeating Austin Achieve, Uvalde, Canyon Lake, Santa Gertrudis Academy and Calallen.

In the UIL State Championship Semifinal, Boerne will face Celina Bobcats who are 25-1-1 and ranked First in Girls 4A Soccer. The match is set for Wednesday April 13th at 11:00 am in Georgetown. Winner will face the winner of Lumberton (21-3-1), ranked 7th in Girls 4A Soccer and Midlothian Heritage (21-3-3) ranked 4th in Girls 4A Soccer.

The 4A Girls Soccer UIL State Championship Final will be Thursday April 14th at 2:30 PM in Georgetown.

Boerne Champion

Boerne Champion will enter the UIL State Semifinal with a record of 19-3-4 and ranked 7th in Girls 5A Soccer. The Chargers has scored 18 Goals in the UIL playoffs defeating Georgetown, Jefferson, Liberty Hill, McAllen and defending state champs Dripping Springs. The Regional Final was an exciting match taking a 1-1 tie all the way to penalties, the Greyhound would come out on top 3-1 in penalties over Dripping Springs to reach the UIL State Championships.

In the UIL State Championship Semifinal, Boerne Champion will face Grapevine (22-2-1) and are ranked number 3 in Girls 5A soccer on Thursday April 14th at noon in Georgetown. Winner will face the winner of Magnolia (24-1-2), ranked 16th in Girls 5A Soccer and Frisco Wakeland (21-1-4) ranked 4th in Girls 5A Soccer.

The 5A Girls Soccer UIL State Championship Final will be Saturday April 15th at 11:00 AM in Georgetown.

Boys Soccer

Boerne Greyhounds

Boerne Greyhounds boys will be defending their 4A UIL State Title and join the girls Boerne Greyhounds in Georgetown for a chance for a 4A State Title sweep in 2022.

Boerne will enter the UIL State Semifinal with a record of 25-2-1 and ranked 5th in Boys 4A Soccer. The Greyhounds scored 30 Goals in the UIL Playoffs defeating Austin Achieve, Pleasanton, Progreso and Taylor.

In the UIL State Championship, Boerne will face Stafford (20-5-4) and are ranked 23rd in Boys 4A Soccer, on Wednesday April 13th at 4:00 PM in Georgetown. Winner will face the winner of Stephenville (21-3-1) ranked 7th in Boys 4A Soccer and Celina (21-3-1) ranked 4th in Boys 4A Soccer.

The 4A Boys Soccer UIL State Championship State Final will be Friday April 15th at 2:30 PM in Georgetown.
