San Antonio FC makes some changes at the Top

SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 25, 2022) – San Antonio FC has announced technical staff and front office changes for the upcoming 2022 USL Championship season.

The technical staff, once again led by Head Coach Alen Marcina, boasts an experienced and talented unit. Dario Pot – who is in his second season with San Antonio – is now a dedicated first-team assistant coach. Pot spent last season as an SAFC Pro Academy coach in addition to his duties with the first-team. Additionally, Juan Lamadrid is back for his seventh season with the club, now serving as the SAFC Pro Academy Director in conjunction with his Head of Goalkeeping duties for the first team. Camilo Botero – who was added as an SAFC Pro Academy coach last season – continues in his role alongside veteran staff coaches Oscar Munoz, Ryan Roushandel and Tim Chestney

SAFC front office staff changes include Jose Lizardo being promoted from Senior Soccer Operations Manager to Director of Toyota Field and STAR Soccer Complex. Additionally, Preston Petri moves from Communications Manager to Senior Manager of Soccer Operations, while Kevin Bass joins the club as Communications Associate Manager. Gabriel Trueba joined the front office in late 2021 as SAFC Social Media Coordinator.

More returning staff from 2021 include Sean Arters (High Performance Coordinator), Jesse Lowrance (Head Athletic Trainer), Rashad Moore (Equipment Manager) and Alex Saldana (Assistant Athletic Trainer). The club also announced that Nick Evans – who served as a first-team assistant coach as well as SAFC Pro Academy Director and was instrumental in the establishment of the SAFC pro pathway – has left the club after six seasons.
