A loss will have the Alamo City Boys travel to California for a first round playoff match up.

Meanwhile: New Mexico United (43 PTS), Austin Bold (41 PTS) and RGVFC Toros (41 PTS) are all fighting for the final playoff spot in the Mountain Division. It will be a wild final weekend with lots of scoreboard watching to see where everyone will land in the playoffs.

Post Match Quotes

SAFC Head Coach Alen Marcina

(On the match overall…)

““I thought we were the dominant and superior steam from start to finish. They had one spell where they had a lot of free kicks and corner kicks. But other than that, we created more than enough opportunities to earn the three points. We know we have to be more clinical in front of goal.”

(On his confidence in his players…)

“I am confident in all my players. There’s belief within the group as there should be. We are among the league leaders in shot creation and shots taken. We know if we continue to do the right things we will benefit.”

(On the upcoming match vs. Colorado Springs…)

“We have to continue to be aggressive with and without the ball, and we have to take our chances.”

SAFC Goalkeeper Matthew Cardone

(On keeping a clean sheet…)

“Its always important to do your best to keep a clean sheet. You can’t lose when you keep a clean sheet. We defended well today and didn’t give Austin too many chances, so that’s definitely a positive tonight.”

(On execution…)

“I think we just have to keep doing our best to execute. We know we are going to generate a ton of chances, so we just have to get that final piece and put the ball in the back of the net.”

San Antonio FC have just one win in their last five, will be looking to get a big win over Colorado Springs and gain momentum going into the playoffs. The regular season concludes for the Alamo City Boys on October 30th at Toyota Field versus Colorado Springs Switchbacks and Hadji Barry who leads the entire USL with 25 Goals.
