History is about to made as the (WMF) World Minifootball Federation, also known as Indoor Soccer, is about to have it’s first ever Women’s WMF World Cup in Ukraine. The tournament is going to be held from August 12th to the 15th in Kyiv and will have eight nations represented. One local goalkeeper from San Antonio will join the USA women’s team on this historic tournament.
Raeann Garcia is just one of three players from Texas who will be at the WMF Women’s World Cup on the US roster. Raeann was starting goalkeeper and played this past season with the San Antonio Slayers of the PASL. She also plays for the San Antonio Corinthians in traditional 11 v 11 women’s soccer.

Raeann was named to the All-PASL First team this year and played college soccer at New Mexico State. She even scored a goal for the Slayers as a Goalkeeper.
Raeann Garcia in an exclusive statement to Soy SAF – “The feeling is unreal! Being able to represent my country and San Antonio is something I’ve been dreaming of since I was little! I’m hoping we can bring home the trophy.”
The WMF Women’s World Cup starts Thursday as eight national teams will take part in Group play. The USA is in Group A with hosts Ukraine, Moldova and Switzerland. Reaann and team USA face Moldova on Thursday, Switzerland on Friday and finish group play versus Ukraine on Saturday. Sunday will have the Semi-Final and Championship Game.
