The San Antonio Athenians are looking to get back to winning ways after a couple of difficult losses. It was a loss to UWS Southwest Conference rival Lone Star Republic in North Texas and a loss to the Houston Dash reserve team in Houston mid-week. Coach Melo and the Athenians will have to learn, make adjustments and move on.

It was all Lone Star Republic in their forst match of the UWS season and the road trip for the Athenians. Athenians has previously been undefeated at 2-0-0 entering the match.
The Athenians had four shots on the night, Blair Currie recorded five saves.
Lone Star Republic had 10 shots, goals by Casey Loyd, Kenne Kesler and Madison Hall and a hat trick by Lone Star Republic’s number 11. Keeper Daniela Marin recorded the clean sheet and four saves.

The San Antonio Athenians met the NWSL’s Houston Dash in a closed door friendly in Houston. The Athenians were able to hold their own in the second half as the Dash were held scoreless.

The San Antonio Athenians have a pair of back to back matches with WiCoFC in a home and home series. First one will take place this weekend in Round Rock on June 5th and the Athenians will be back home on Tuesday, June 8th to face WilCoFC again at Soccer Central. The Athenians are 2-1-0; 7 PTS with a plus two goal differential and WilCoFC are 1-2-0; 3 PTS with a negative five goal differential.
