Soccer Central, San Antonio
The Athenians and CTX Hornets (Kyle) played on a rainy Saturday evening at Soccer Central. It was competitive for the first 36 minutes, The CTX Hornets were able to defend the Athenians attack and had the lead after an own goal in the 13th minute by the Athenians.
The Athenians drew even in the 37th minute with a goal by Eden Brezter and took a 2-1 lead into half time after an own goal in the 39 minute.
Second half was all Athenians as they scored four unanswered and never looked back. Amanda Smith added one in the 48th minute, while Channing Borden recorded a brace with goals in the 64th and 76th minute, Defender Megan Katona wrapped up the scoring in the 79th minute. The Athenians took this one 6-1 and move to 2-0-0 in the UWS Southwest Conference.

The Athenians are scheduled to hit the road for the next two matches, playing Lone Star Republic in Richardson on May 29th and Williamson County FC in Austin on June 5th. The Athenians return to Soccer Central for potentially huge match versus Side FC 92 (Tulsa) on Friday June 11th.
