With no current live matches being played until at least the week of May 10th, the USL announced the inaugural edition of the USL eCup: Rocket Edition. The eCup is an online based tournament that will have 32 clubs represented from the USL Championship and USL One facing each other in group play and those that qualify will be in the knockout stages until a champion is declared.

San Antonio FC will participate in Group 4 with Eastern Conference team Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC along with Texas rivals El Paso Locomotive FC and Rio Grande Valley Toros FC. While San Antonio FC has faced both Texas rivals on the pitch, this will be the first time that SAFC faces Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on the pitch or in a virtual arena.

San Antonio FC is captained by Josh Richards on the Xbox and will play for the charity Spurs Give. Clubs will nominate a charity of their choosing and a link to a donation page will be available for fans to chip in and support throughout the Twitch streams and on club and league websites.
The tournament kicks off March 31st and San Antonio FC’s first eCup match is April 1st at 5:00 PM. San Antonio FC comes in 14th in the Power Rankings; Pittsburgh is 5th, El Paso is 10th and RGVFC is 25th. You can watch the virtual matches on Twitch and follow us right here for more info, updates and match results.
