San Antonio will enter USL Match Day Two on the road in Colorado to face the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. Both teams enter the match winning their first game of the season and will look for three points to begin separating themselves from the USL Western Conference pack.
San Antonio FC is coming off a 1-0 win over Real Monarchs where SAFC dominated possession for much of the match and played an aggressive style of play. Montgomery scored in the 67′ with an assist for Solignac. Defense stepped up and and played a disciplined game with only one yellow from Blake Smith that was questionable on a supposed handball.
Colorado Springs won their match of the season with a 2-1 victory over Oklahoma City Energy at Taft Stadium in Oklahoma. Switchbacks scored early with a goal from Christian Volesky, who came in from Pittsburgh Riverhounds, in the 15th minute. OKC struck back and tied up in the 58′ by team captain Atiba Harris on a header from a free kick. The match winner was scored on an own goal in the 77′ minute as a pass was deflected by Energy’s Tucker Stephenson.
