An epic match up between two great soccer programs is going on at the Blossom Athletics Center in San Antonio this Friday at 7:00 PM between Madison and LEE. Between both teams, they have 21 wins combined. It’s the first of two meetings this season and an early regular season showdown; it could be a preview of an epic UIL playoff match come April.
LEE is coming in as the visiting team at 11-1-2, the only loss was the opener versus Schertz Clemens and are coming off a hard fought draw against Churchill. LEE’s defense has been almost unbeatable, giving up only 7 goals. Kameron Kloza, Texas Tech commit, has been the leader of the defensive back line with 12 steals. The offense has been a powerhouse scoring 50 goals through 14 games. Helene Farris, just a sophomore, leads the team in offensive stats with 6 goals and 4 assists, fours players are tied with four goals. Other team notables are Brittney Campa, UTSA commit, with two goals and three assists; Junior, Jenevieve Jackson has three goals and two assists.
According to Maxpreps.com, LEE comes in ranked 11th in Region IV, 42nd in 6A Girls HS Soccer, 6th in San Antonio and 77th overall in the state.
Madison comes into this one with a perfect record at 10-0-0, and has given up only one goal all season. The only goal given up was against Steele in a 3-1 win earlier in the year. The Mavericks are led by Jillian Martinez, Senior, who has committed to UCLA. Jillian has over 20 goals this season. The defense is led by Center Back Sierra Wannamaker, who is committed to UIW.
According to Maxpreps.com Madison is ranked 4th in Region IV, 16th in 6A Girls HS Soocer, First in San Antonio and 27th in the State.
The game is set for this Friday, February 7th at 7:00 PM at Colamander located at the Blossom Soccer Fields in San Antonio, the game will also be live streamed on YouTube exclusively on Soy SAF TV.
