Alamo City SC held its preseason friendly between it women’s UPSL (red) and WPSL (blue) squads at the Alamo City Soccer Club’s Soccer complex on the west side of San Antonio. It was competitive match throughout as the UPSL squad held their own defensively but at the end the senior WPSL squad came out on top 3-0. First goal was an own goal on a corner and Kaitlin Moore scored brace. Both squads put in valuable minutes in a match environment as the regular season draws closer.
The match was held at field 4 which will be the home pitch for both squads. A good crowd was on hand to watch the inter-club match as most seats were full on the newly installed seating section. Alamo City President Rick Kuchka mentioned that improvements will continued to made to Field 4 prior to the season opener.
The UPSL season begins May 25th with an away match at FC Coyotes and the home opener will take place as an inter-city derby with Samba FC San Antonio on June 1st at 4:00 PM.
The WPSL season starts May 19th away at Texas Titans and the home opener will be May 26th versus AHFC Royals. The inter-city derby with San Antonio Blossoms will be away on June 5th and at home on June 26th.
