The past week or so has seen some severe weather roll through most of the state affected parts of Texas with heavy rain and floods. The severe weather has also affected the UPSL Central Conference fixtures.
Samba FC San Antonio
Samba had their match versus Bat Country FC cancelled due to rain last week, both clubs are in talks to reschedule at a later date. Up next is “El Clasico” the first official inter-city derby with San Antonio Runners SC at the Athletic Sport Complex on the campus of UTSA. Match is set for this Saturday May 18th at 7:00 PM. Samba are currently 2-0-1 with 6 points but they have several games in hand over their Heart Division opponents.
San Antonio Corinthians
It has been an interesting time for the Corinthians these past few weeks. Ownership has changed hands and the club has fell silent on social media and the web. As in, they currently hold no active accounts to follow the team. The Corinthians last played on May 4th and crushed Texas Hawks FC 9-2, so it appears the events behind the scenes are not effecting the play on the pitch. Up next for the Corinthians is a home match versus Athletic Katy FC. Corinthians are currently 4-0-1 with 12 points in the South Division.
San Antonio Runners SC
The Runners are coming off a close victory over Coyotes FC. A 1-0 match with John Mendoza putting away the match winner in the 37′ minute. The Runners had stumbled a bit after winning the first three matches of the season with a draw to Waco FC in the away match and losing to Waco 3-1 in the reverse fixture the following weekend at home. The win over Coyotes FC puts the Runners back on track as they face Samba FC in “El Clasico” on Saturday.
