Canyon Lake faced Midlothian-Heritage in the UIL 4A boys State semi-final. It was a close match and both schools represented well on the pitch and school spirit in the stands.
Canyon Lake opened by the scoring in the first half from a low strike inside the box which got by the keepers left. Midlothian-Heritage was able to equalize before the half on a laser from outside the box through traffic into the back of the net. Midolthian-Heritage scored on the second half off a counter, Canyon Lake threatened to score and came close several times. Midlothian-Heritage was able to defend and came out on top 2-1.
