UPSL Weekly Wrap Up #2 – Lots of Goals!

This past weekend saw a plethora of goals from all the matches the UPSL San Antonio clubs were involved in. All three local clubs combined for a total of 17 goals on Saturday, we saw a brace, a hat-trick and a haul (4 goals by one player).

Samba FC San Antonio (1-0-1, 3 PTS)

Samba FC was the first local club to see action on Saturday versus FC Waco. It turned into a high scoring match as both teams combined for 10 goals. FC Waco ended up the victors in this exciting match, 6-4 over Samba FC. Enoc Roches finished with a hat trick for Samba in the match.

UP NEXT: Samba FC head up I-35 to face Round Rock (1-0-2, 3 PTS) in a Sunday afternoon matinee. Match time is at 3:00 PM at the Round Rock Multi-purpose complex.

San Antonio Corinthians (2-0-1, 6 PTS)

The Corinthians kicked off their second home match of the season Saturday evening at Warrior Stadium. Corinthians faced Cedar Stars Rush and took a commanding 3-0 lead into half-time. What was more tightly contested second half, Corinthians added one more, finished with a clean sheet and a 4-0 win over Cedar Stars Rush. Carlos Guerrero continued his fine form and scored a brace with goals in the 3rd and 66th minutes.

UP NEXT: Two home matches, Mid-week International Friendly versus Santos Laguna at home on 04.17.19 and UPSL match versus Houston FC (2-1-0, 7 PTS).

San Antonio Runners (2-0-0, 6 PTS)

The Runners had their home season opener on Saturday and it was another 10 goal fest. Runners never let off the gas pedal and ran away with a 9-1 shellacking of Killeen FC Knights. Keegan Woolley had a Haul with 4 goals on the night and an assist. Jesus Cortez had 3 assists.

UP NEXT: Runners have two UPSL matches this week. Wednesday night on the road at FC Thunder Boerne (1-0-0, 3 PTS) and back at home on Saturday to face FC Waco (3-0-0, 9 PTS).
