The Los Angeles Galaxy II came in formidable as they were coming off an impressive week 5 win over the Tulsa Roughnecks, Zubak and Koreniuk each had a pair of goals in the 4-2 victory. San Antonio FC came off their first win of the season in Week 5 with a 2-1 win over Las Vegas Lights.
The the first goal came int he 14th minute as Guzman came up on the right side of the box and made a diagonal pass to Jamieson IV in the middle of the box, Jamieson took a shot which bounced off Los Angeles Defender Hillard-Arce right back to Jamieson and rocketed into an open net. Second goal came in the 35th minute when Gomez and Los Angels Goalkeeper vom Steeg went up on a 50/50 ball at the top of the box, vom Steeg attempted to the clear the ball but fell right into Guzman’s feet and was able to tap it into an empty net. That’s all SAFC needed as the defense locked it down and LA never threatened.

In other news:
SAFC announced that the club and Amer Didic were parting ways. Didic played in the first two matches and was benched since Week 2, Didic’s minutes diminished to zero and Hernandez came in on loan. Speculation is there was a difference of opinion between Didic and Darren Powell. No word if SAFC plans to add another defender to the roster.
Leeroy Maguraushe posted on his Twitter account that his operation for his achilles tendon injury went well. SAFC, in a press release, said that Magu was out for the year as he recovers from the Week 5 injury when he landed awkwardly trying to control a ball.
Pecka is still recovering from his right foot injury as well, looks like he is progressing in his rehab but Pecka will be out for at least a few more weeks if not a couple months.
Ethan Bryant is close to being match ready, we should see Ethan back in action in a couple weeks. With SAFC down two at midfield for an extended time, Ethan’s return will be timely and add depth to the roster.
SAFC will hit the road and head to Utah to face the Real Monarchs (2-2-2), SAFC is looking to extend it’s winning streak to three and continue the climb up the table. San Antonio is currently sitting in 11th place but only 3 points out the top 4 spots and some of the top teams have stumbled in the last two weeks.
