Lee Volunteers reach UIL HS Soccer State Tournament

Lee High School Volunteers High School Boy’s soccer team have made their return to the UIL State Tournament. What was a rematch of last year’s UIL 6A Region 4 final in San Antonio , Lee topped Reagan High School 5-0 this year in Brownsville to earn a spot in Georgetown.

Lee finished in the district with an defeated record of 13 wins, 0 losses and 1 draw and an overall record of 26-2-1, Lee are currently ranked 4th in the State. The lone draw was to Johnson HS which ended 2-2 back on February 26th.

Lee participated in two showcases; the North Texas Elite Showcase and Austin Lakes Elite Showcase in January. They finished with a combined record of 4 wins 2 losses, capped with 2-1 win over 2019 TAPPS State Champion Central Catholic.

Lee Volunteers in the post season have 19 goals in favor and 3 against for a plus 16 goal differential. The playoffs started for Lee with a 3-0 win over O’Connor in the Bi-district, 3-0 win over Westlake (Austin) in Area, 4-1 win over Lake Travis (Austin) in the Regional Quarter-final, 4-2 win over Alexander (Laredo) in the Regional Semi and 5-0 win over Reagan in the Regional Final.

Lee Volunteers will travel to Georgetown to face College Park (The Woodlands) on Friday April 19th at 7:30 PM. Match will be played at Birkelback Field at the Georgetown ISD Sports Complex. College Park comes in with a overall record 18-3-2 and ranked 26th in the State, having 9 goals in favor and 2 against at a plus 7 goal differential in their playoff run.

Winner of this one will face the winner of Region 1/Region 3 State Semifinal between Flower Mound, ranked 12th in the State (19-3-1) and Alief Elisk (Houston), ranked 13th in the State (24-1-1) on Saturday April 20th at 6:30 PM.
